System Configuration
The newly constructed head office cold storage facility adopts advanced refrigeration and air-conditioning systems to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve high energy efficiency.
For the F-class and C-class warehouses and temperature-controlled rooms, the facility introduced NiCRES, a natural-refrigerant cascade system combining ammonia (NH₃) and carbon dioxide (CO₂). This system reduces refrigerant charge while delivering high heat-exchange efficiency, significantly lowering overall environmental impact. High-COP Hasegawa reciprocating compressors further enhance energy savings.
Temperature-controlled rooms are equipped with the DEMS positive-pressure dehumidification air-conditioning system, which utilizes CO₂ refrigerant cooled by NiCRES, ensuring stable dehumidification even in low-temperature environments while maintaining hygienic loading areas. This achieves both product quality preservation and energy efficiency.
For products requiring ultra-low-temperature control, such as tuna, the facility employs the CARUS ultra-low-temperature dual refrigeration system, using low-GWP R32 refrigerant on the low stage and natural refrigerant ammonia on the high stage, enabling stable ultra-low temperatures with reduced environmental impact.
Through the combined use of natural refrigerants, low-GWP refrigerants, and high-efficiency equipment, the head office cold storage facility has established a highly environmentally responsible refrigeration and air-conditioning system.
